SeaFOOD weekend!

Looks like I am posting a lot on food lately in my blog. Well, I did not do that on purpose but somehow it is the only idea running through my head!

Last Friday I travel back to Penang to celebrate mother's day with mummy! Yes I know it is pretty late but then it is the best time where all of us is around! Jay, me, daddy and mummy! The entire adventure of Penang trip begins with a wake up call on Saturday! While waiting for my sis to arrived from Ipoh, we decided to head to Pulau Aman for a short island sight seeing/ food eating trip! How to get there? I seriously do not know! What I know is that the port to the island is located in mainland Penang where we have to pass by Batu Kawan stadium!

This is the place where we waited for our boat to the island!

There were certain time for us to catch the ferry to the island and back! The ferry transfer cost RM6 (return trip) per person. There were hotels ranging from budget stay (RM5 pernight with minimum of 8pax) in a school to medium cost chalet (RM70 per night facing another island) to a little costly and yet cheap chalet (RM120). The condition of the hotels were not as nice as those top notch vacation spots. It is more of a village style! Good to try!

Picture from the shore

The best part of this island is the seafood! Yesh! The seafood!

In cantonese, we called it Lai Liu Har. In hokkien we call it hea kor. In english? I dono!

Crab on the table!

There were restaurants set up in the island itself. Our favourite pick was the one located at the shore (where they extend the platform out to the sea). There they serve the catch of the day. i.e. prawns, fish, crabs and many more!

here comes the catch of the day!

All we need to do is to pick our sea creature alive..ahem of course from their tank not sea! They will catch them for you in a pail and we bring them to our table in the restaurant.

Then the waiter will come and pick up your sea-creature and steam them into seafood!

NYUM NYUM! Delicious!

We usually eat the ready peeled! Today, we learn how to peel! Cut the head, cut the side and peel them like banana! HAHABANANA! Just be cautious! their back side and head are pretty sharp!

The place is cleaner than I expected! And they do serve super nice mee goreng as well with 3 large prawns!!!! AWESOME!!!!!

After much fun around the island, we head back to Tambun for lunch with my sis! The night ended with an awesome garden dinner with my family in our very own little garden! We had crabsssss, huge fish and bee hoon! NICE!!! But outch! I hurt my finger while cracking my crabs! BLEEEDING!!!!

Well, I am of course back home already..and I miss my parents so so much!

I am here! Are you ready?

Most of us dream to achieve many things in life. We have so many things line up in our mind and we always say 'it will definitely be great if I could go there'. Along the way, maybe some of us were less fortunate. Maybe we may not have sufficient models to help us to achieve our dream and sometimes, our dreams are just a step away but we were unprepared.

Completing a goal in my life is not the the mark of my success but it is also a mark of a new beginning. It is time for me to think through and realign my goal in-order to move on to another achievement. I know what I want ultimately but wasn't sure if I could secure a place there. But getting there requires a lot of considerations (when you have your own family) and also approval from your family members (Chinese tradition :- we don't go as we like. We just need our parents blessings to move on). Maybe my thoughts were too deep but neither do I want to make a selfish decision.

There were lights shining at each tunnel I wish to explore. But It was too soon to make my decision straight. Or maybe life is not that straight. Some say go with the wave! But what if I hit the rock behind the wave? And another will say, you are procrastinating! Journey ain't suppose to be smooth eh? Even dummie can tell you, 'even our roads have countless pot holes!'.

Sometimes I think too far for personal achievement and neglect the steps along the way. Hence, there go... Fuzzy Roads to my destination!

There were opportunities, it is either too far (location), came too soon or too hard to decide. They are just a voice away, but am I ready to take the challenge?

Call the CAB!

By looking at my title, you might think that I am writing about Taxis in Malaysia. I know, I know there are 101 complains I can write about, but then not today!

Let's shift our focus to Yellow Cab. Yellow Cab? Now am I talking about the colour and the car? NO! I am certainly not! Yellow Cab have nothing to do with taxis, colour of the taxi or any type of taxi! IT IS A PIZZA PLACE!!!!

Yellow Cab is an eating place located in Taipan. They serve PIZZA! What kind of pizza? US PIZZA! Yeah, I thought I would miss US pizza after being not able to find any shops around me. But this this eating place some how attracts me when a friend introduced it to me. Well, the plan to visiting was random. Ever since I have changed my diet, fast food was not my primary meal anymore!

Afraid of dirty kitchens or curious about how the chef deals with your food? Worry not! The entire preparation place is only covered with transparent glass! You can see how they measure the size of your pizza to weighing the amount of meat and cheese for your pizza to how they spread all the ingredients on your pizza cooking it! Awesome?

Well, don't be too busy talking away! Do see how your pizza is cooked too! The pizza will move from one end to the other (say 1meter) on a conveyor across the oven. They move reeeaaaalllyyy slooooowwwwwoooo. So, your pizza is nicely done when it reaches the other end!

Bon appetite! Looks yummy when it is served! And it taste yummy too!

ps Thx dude for taking awesome pics!

Steamboat For Joy!

Getting very bored with same old steamboat?

Recently, we found a new eating place for steamboat! They did not only offer one pot of hot soup to dip in but also a little hot plate to grill and a corner to BBQ. Hence, they name it 88 BBQ Steamboat

We visited this eating place in their Subang Jaya branch in SS15. They may not be located in a very outstanding place like Starbucks or Asia Cafe but then they can be easily found by simple directions!

How to go? - You can easily spot Pelita Nasi Kandar in SS15. Just turn in the small road next to Pelita Nasi kandar. Go all the way in and you will find them! Parking Space? Need not worry!

They serve variety of food to be dip, grill and BBQ from fish balls, to mushrooms, to seafood to satay to marinade beef/ chicken/ mutton and many more! The center of attraction are their prawns!

We catch them alive! Yeas ALIVE!

Hence, skill are needed in order to pick them up! If you are faint hearted like me, please don't even attempt to  try! The prawns JUMPS! And we cook them alive...sad but yah! Make sure u shake them to make them dizzy before throwing them into your pot! (To prevent them jumping out with 1st degree burnt)

Thanks to their great atmosphere and great variety of food and drinks, we manage to fill our stomach with so much food and our hearts with so much joy and laughter!

After all the hot sizzling grill, bubble boiling pot and the red hot bbq, we cool out tongues with a large variety of ice-cream!

Rating from 1 - 10, I would give them a 8! To return there? Definitely

Thankyou AAron for the nice pic-ie!
